Our thinking focuses on finding new qualities in housing that develop from the interaction between the individual and the collective: a sustainable way of life with the qualities of individual housing. Therefore we propose the association of very different typologies in an unique building: individual houses with garden, penthouse duplex with shared terrace, apartments with gardens on the groundfloor and panoramic dwellings, ranging from simplex to triplex dwellings.
The building respects the alignments on street and marks the angle by an extra height, redifining the street's urban space. The volume shape gives rhythm to the facade and create private and shared terraces.
The materialisation of the building is conceived with the same idea of unity and diversity. The sliding windows show the diversity of spaces, while dark brick unifies the volume. The use of brick, a traditional construction material in Northern France sets the project in the continuity of the city, and at the same time, its unusual color and implementation makes it contemporary.
