Silvia Bathtub 2015
Silvia Bathtub 2015

Designers: In house design Marmite S.A., Dopiewo, Poland
Manufacturer: Marmite S.A., Dopiewo, Poland

The Silvia bathtub has a timeless and functional design. It is inspired by the shape of a first known terracotta bathtub from 1700 BC and discovered in the palace of Knossos on Crete. Silvia is ergonomically designed, so that it corresponds to human shape and is wider in shoulders and gets narrower towards feet. This shape also brings substantial reduction in water use, from 280 to 130 liters. The overflow integrated in a thin wall is an innovative solution that so far has not been applied in mass production. The bathtub is made of cast marble, with natural dolomite powder as its main ingredient. Thus, it absorbs warmth and ensures comfort of use.
