Alienware x16 is a powerful processing laptop for gaming, 3D, and multimedia creation. The x16 is crafted from high-quality materials so it’s thin and light for gaming on the go, without sacrificing power. By using high spec materials, the team achieved the thinnest system without compromising performance. It is designed for an elevated experience and available in Lunar Silver color.
The x16 is engineered to give users a thin, mobile form factor, along high-performance gaming and multimedia use. The chassis fits a large 16:10 aspect ratio 16-inch screen with minimal borders, and a mechanical keyboard. • The system architecture of the x16 is an evolved version of Alienware’s four-fan layout that packs the most cooling elements and power into the thin chassis. • The chassis is made up of aluminum, magnesium, stainless steel and plastic – each material specifically chosen to be ultra-thin, super light, yet strong, to build the compact product and create a durable, premium quality laptop that will last. • Inspired by nature, a honeycomb vent design on the top and base of the laptops amplifies airflow rate and boosts thermal performance. Additional hexagon-shaped venting located on the top of the machine, and four internal fans propels gaming power to new heights. The hex pattern is chosen for its efficiency of pattern design.
A key innovation on x16 is the 4-fan architecture and the capability to fit such high power and performance into a thin laptop. This is achieved through using specific material, the overall location of the components, and the even the design of the hinge. The materials were chosen for each specific part to give a high strength to thickness ratio. • The location of the keyboard and the fans helps optimize the form factor and create more air intake area above and around the keyboard. The hinge itself is a unique rack and pinion design that creates a tight exterior part line when closed, but also helps to drive a thinner product and create space to maximize the fans even further.
