HP Color LaserJet Enterprise Printers The new design for the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise Printers ups the game for the HP Small Business print portfolio to keep the HP brand at the forefront of office printing. Based on research, the new HP printers are better designed to meet the needs of the modern office worker by becoming the central hub in an office setting and work-partner for digitizing, re-materializing, and distributing of office documents.
There is a growing trend among printer users to hide their printers under a counter, a shelf, a drawer, or in a separate room. If a printer is not where you work at, it becomes less accessible, inconvenient, and productivity suffers. The designers wanted to change that by creating a design language that makes people want to place the printer where they can see and use. Therefore, during project conceptualization, the design team collaborated with Architects, Interior, and Industrial Designers, to create a revolutionary design form factor and user experience congruent with the emergent demands and styles of the modern office.
A laser printer is inherently complex product, but users don’t have to know it. A printer should look simple and easy to use, and these products achieve that goal. All the details are carefully thought out to keep the clean aesthetics without compromising the functionality and usability. The Blue-colored panels of these printers are input trays, which naturally grab the attention of users and invite them to interact with the products. Chamfered surfaces surrounding these panels create striking visual, while intuitively creating affordances for users’ fingers to open. Products are also more compact than their predecessors, which saves desk space while using less materials to manufacture.
