The Yoga Book 9i is Lenovo YOGA Brand’s premium dual display convertible laptop, centered around a 360-degree soundbar hinge, bringing together two separate OLED 13-inch displays. As a creator and artist’s perfect tool, the display supports touch and a stylus for writing and sketching. Compared with other laptops, Yoga Book 9i can support a broader range of scenarios, for example, ‘Book Mode’ where the two screens provide a reading experience like a traditional book. The detachable magic keyboard offers a mix of physical and virtual input, which facilitates a more efficient and intelligent typing experience.

Design Key Features

The dual display PC technology has been around for a while but the complicated execution of engineering the product to be a seamless experience through each use case and mode has been the largest challenge. Yoga Book 9i aims to make the user more mobile in carry mode and more efficient in multitask mode, In addition to typing with the virtual keyboard on the screen, you can also use the physical Bluetooth keyboard on the screen. The system will automatically identify the keyboard and combine it with the virtual trackpad to bring an efficient typing experience and flexible use of virtual shortcut keys. Through the perfect combination of software and hardware, it brings a new user experience and efficient solutions. As the pioneer of dual-screen computers, Yoga Book 9i upgrades the E-ink technology of the previous two generations to dual OLED and supports handwriting and touch. And the new generation of 360° soundbar hinge brings flexible angles and more outstanding high-fidelity sound effects to meet.

Design Story

The Yoga Book 9i dual display convertible laptop continues the Yoga family design principles. In the pursuit of creating the ultimate, luxury experience the designers use the Jewel design language, glossy, round edges with high-end precision-machined quality (aluminum unibody CNC), which offer a tactile, soothing experience to customers. The soft-touch fabric foldable cover can fold to be a folio cover of the Bluetooth Keyboard and can fold to be a stand to support the laptop. The system provides a mature, intelligent, and peaceful feel to users with the “Tidal Teal Blue” color.

Design for Customers and Earth

As people do more with their devices, they increasingly need them to multitask. A dual-display PC naturally helps to manage multi-tasking and can dramatically increase efficiency. Plus the convertible form factor, it allows people to see more but carry less, work flexibly, and be prepared for any situation, whether work or leisure. people can share PowerPoint pages while having a video conference. Students can take notes with a digital pen on one screen while watching the online course from another one. The Tik Tok maker can use the portrait mode to preview the broadcast effect in real time and view the related setting on another screen. The device aims to increase sustainability with the top cover made from 100% Pre-Consumer Recycled Aluminum.

The goal of the Yoga Book 9i is to create a single product that transforms to serve as a range of products- eliminating the need for a tablet, laptop, and desktop PC following the idea that less can be more. By being fully transformative from laptop to tablet to e-book to dual display the designers hope that users find this system gives them everything they need to get work done, be creative, and use it at leisure.
