Improved and evolved, the 9th generation X1 2-in-1 is ThinkPad's flagship model with a 14-inch display and 360-degree hinge that quickly switches between laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes. You can use it comfortably in any location and in any way that suits your work style. The communication bar on the top cover includes a high-performance camera and microphone for clear acoustics. A new haptics type force pad allows more flexibility in adapting to the user’s preference, maximizing the use of input space while simplifying the visual appearance.

The flagship X1 2-in-1 is in demand for its robust, flexible, and thin form factor. All covers are constructed from recycled aluminum, and the CMF treatment provides a genuine premium aesthetic while being highly functional.

The multimode 2-in-1 style maximizes the value of its new active pen. The pen is comfortable to hold, allowing you to seamlessly sketch, sign, and take notes on the screen. It easily attaches to the main body with a strong magnet, allowing you to keep it attached while working or carrying it around, but it can also be put in your bag as it is. You can also easily charge it with a Type-C adapter.

The form is without compromise to the smallest details, resulting in a solid, beautiful, and modern metal housing. In particular, we managed to balance thermal and sound performance, while minimizing visible holes. Dolby Atomos Speakers carry quality sound through the keyboard, eliminating the need for dedicated speaker holes.

Furthermore, despite having a high-performance CPU, the intake holes on the underside are minimized, and the exhaust holes are not visible from the outside, as they are hidden adjacent to the hinge. The bottom screws are neatly placed and surprisingly, there are only four, giving customers efficient internal access. These meticulous detail treatments improve the solid feel of our quality metal housing.

Compact, thin, and equipped with an advanced ergonomic keyboard, the X1 2-in-1 is often described as the best in the industry. As a result of our collaboration with blind customers, we have also improved the design’s inclusivity. Tactile indications on the volume control, insert, enter, and ctrl keys provide the best input experience for everyone. Furthermore, smart accessibility is provided with either fingerprint login or automatic login by face recognition using our high-quality IR camera and reducing login time for the user. For privacy, a physical mechanical camera shutter is integrated into the communication bar.

The communication bar establishes a strong first impression. It introduces a fresh new design for ThinkPad, accentuating the importance of communication enhancement. Dual-array microphones with noise canceling and 4K / F2.0 camera sensors allow you to capture high quality photos and videos, enabling problem-free video conferencing. The communication bar also distinguishes which side to open the display from and facilitates easy one-handed-opening.

The X1 2-in-1 is a leading model that anticipates sustainability-oriented specifications, soon to become the standard in the future. Implementing improved manufacturing processes such as forged plus CNC, as well as using 75% recycled aluminum results in reduced material waste, energy consumption and carbon footprint. The key caps, battery frame, speaker, internal cable holders and AC adapter all use an impressive 90% of recycled Post-Consumer Content (PCC) in the plastic.
