Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City is a state-level high-tech city jointly built by the Chinese and Singapore governments. The designers were commissioned to design the color image of Knowledge City.
From the bright sunlight environment of Guangzhou, they extracted the bright sunshine color tone, reflecting the lively and energetic atmosphere. The deep, mysterious, and technological blue color tone was summarized from the high-tech industrial characteristics of Knowledge City. Additionally, they refined the elegant spring water green color tone from the beautiful ecological environment and incorporated the warm autumn leaves color tone inspired by folk activity colors and lively decorative colors in Singapore cities.
With these four color systems, they established the recommended color spectrum of "The clear and bright sunshine tones, dotted with bluish purple and reddish gold colors" for the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City. This spectrum not only reflects the young, modern, and innovative temperament of the Knowledge City but also maintains the original overall tone of Guangzhou's urban color. It also absorbs the lively decorative color style of Singapore.
The designers applied this set of color spectrum to the landscape environment of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, focusing on the design of pedestrian corridors. By considering the form of corridors in different sections and the needs of users, they carried out the color design for the corridors and ground pavement. The commitment is to utilize the exclusive color system to design a colorful corridor system, creating a symbolic spatial image that represents the vibrant and innovative nature of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.
