Manufacturer: Horm, Brugnera, PN, Italy

The square has always been an emblematic place: a junction of passage and a space for human sharing of the city, an outlook for meeting and confrontation, a custodian of local historical memories and at the same time a promoter of a future with an international scope.

Innovation and interpretation are the two guidelines of a fluid design path, the one that sees Marco Piva and Horm together for the first time in the design of a Capsule Collection with an Italian soul and a cosmopolitan style, transversal in the different contexts of living.

Fabio Melcarne, owner and CEO of Horm, says: «We met Marco Piva post Covid pandemic, when we were wondering in which direction consumer preferences would go in terms of furnishing the home and public spaces. The discussion with Marco and his team was enlightening, and we immediately shared the need to design a transversal furniture collection that would allow a strong contamination between these environments. To feel a bit at home in a hotel lobby or during a friendly evening at a restaurant is the goal with which SMP designed the Plaza collection. We think the result is definitely successful, and we are sure that the market will reward this new collaboration with Horm».

The Plaza collection recounts a metaphorical journey through European capitals, interpreting their most iconic urban squares, and consists of tables, chairs, cabinets, writing desks and consoles, designed not only for the most intimate domestic dimension but also for dynamic reception spaces.

«When thinking about the Plaza Collection - says Marco Piva - it is clear how today, and in the future, interior design must redefine spaces by characterizing them as warm, emotional and intimate. Being comfortable in a place and sharing it is what makes it unique and special. This collection is a journey through elegant shapes that links and designs the cosmopolitan living of tomorrow, adapting to the most different contexts».

The combination of excellent quality materials such as fabrics, woods and metals, combined with the unmistakable signature of Made in Italy design, gives life to harmonious furnishing elements that blend in with contemporary living spaces, from residential to hotel.

The fine finishes are told in soft, flowing lines, making every room cozy and pleasant, thanks to a design that blends aesthetics and functionality.

Just like squares, places of widespread sociality, the new Plaza Collection products interpret private and public conviviality spaces by creating connections with their surroundings: a new interpretation of urban living, with its infinite facets.

The uniqueness of the Alexander table lies in its die-cast metal legs that can be assembled in different ways and consist of two elements plus a Y-joint. A joint of joints like the Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Available in four different sizes, even the top can have different finishes from marble to metal to back-painted glass.

Since 1989, Horm combined linearity, elegance and art to create home environments that are always essential but with great aesthetic impact. Horm proposes a "contemporary design" where international influences coexist, reinterpreted by the culture, passion and craftsmanship of Made in Italy. The brand's creative philosophy is defined in its corporate vision: to decorate living spaces by creating emotions. Horm stands out for its ability to combine elegant lines and elements of amazement that turn spaces into an expression of those who live in them. Horm's sister brand Casamania offers seating and occasional furniture for hotels, bars, restaurants, common areas of buildings and homes. With Casamania, furniture goes beyond its simple function and becomes a protagonist capable of evoking memories, images, emotions and moods.
