The National Maritime Museum of Korea is the first comprehensive maritime museum in Yeongdo gu, Busan, facing the Pacific Ocean.
The National Maritime Museum functions as a relic exhibition hall, a park for people that enjoy the sea, and a platform to bring awareness to the importance of the sea.
The design of the National Maritime Museum MI (Museum Identity) was developed with the concepts of ‘Layers’ and ‘By reflecting the waves of the sea containing thousands of years in MMK letters, it represents a museum where time overlaps, and the waves of time continue to flow.
It is expressed in a concise and modern form of wordmark to convey the image of a museum that accommodates contemporary maritime culture, not a museum of the past, and increased its usability in various media by expanding the concise line of the logo into a graphic motif.
