Weber, the global leader in grilling and outdoor cooking, brings 70 years of grilling expertise and flavor to the outdoor electric grill category with the introduction of LUMIN. Weber industrial designers pride themselves on not only creating the most functional and durable products but also thoughtfully designing them to improve outdoor living and complement consumers’ outdoor lifestyles. With a desire to expand the circle and include more people in the joy of grilling, designers created LUMIN for an under-represented griller: those who live a space-limited urban lifestyle, with a lean toward younger consumer. They did this all while also incorporating features for those concerned about sustainability.

Weber started the design process with the desire to build the best electric grill in the world. Aware of the macro trend of consumers seeking more sustainable outdoor appliances—from leaf blowers to lawnmowers to cars—Weber designers rolled up their sleeves and got to work. The first step: research. To create a next-generation electric grill, Weber conducted both qualitative and quantitative research globally. Weber visited current electric grill owners and those who planned to buy one in the near future. Weber sent teams to Japan, China, Germany, and the United States, to study people who used electric grills and discover their pain points.

With those pain points in mind, LUMIN was specially designed to provide those with limited outdoor space and fuel options with a beautifully designed, eco-conscious choice that still achieves the high heat needed to provide authentic barbecue flavors. This highly versatile, multifunctional, and ultra-modern grill features a sleek, space-efficient design, making it ideal for smaller outside areas where other forms of grilling, such as charcoal and gas, are not permitted.

To create a “next-level” electric cooking experience, Weber product experts engineered this first-of-its-kind grill with a wide temp range and intuitive controls to sear, smoke, steam or even boil. LUMIN also keeps meals warm so guests can serve themselves. Specifically, LUMIN can:

Reach high heat temperatures of more than 600°F/315°C so that cooks can achieve that authentically grilled flavor they have come to love with Weber products; owners can reach high heat-searing temperatures within 15 minutes.

Infuse vegetables and proteins with rich, smokey tastes through a unique smoke mode.

Steam vegetables, braise sausages, and keep cooked food warm via different cook settings and specially designed accessories.

Thaw frozen foods directly on the grill while it preheats to save time and simplify mealtime for busy cooks.

Make clean-up a breeze with a front-access grease tray and dishwasher-friendly, porcelain-enamel cast iron cooking grates.

Easily store when not in use.

The LUMIN grill was designed for outdoor living with a porcelain-enamel steel lid and cook box which provide superior durability and long-term corrosion resistance—as well as advanced heat efficiency. Full-size or compact models come in a variety of vibrant colors (size and color vary by region), including Ice Blue, Deep Ocean Blue, Golden Yellow, Seafoam Green, Black, and Crimson.
