Schlegel developed a new illuminated QUARTEX connect e-stop, providing additional value with its illuminated status indication. The illuminated protective collar emphasizes the functional safety aspect while setting an astonishingly aesthetical detail.
An emergency stop can save lives. In case of an emergency, the machine is instantly stopped by pushing the red button and thus is put in a safe state.
The machine can be operated only after releasing the mechanism. The integrated LEDs inside the button support this safety function. The standard setting of the e-stop is not illuminated.
When, in a situation of danger, the e-stop is pushed, the integrated LEDs inside the protective collar light up. This visual signal immediately indicates where the emergency occurred. The illumination also makes sure that the e-stop is clearly visible, even in poor lighting conditions.
The illumination function is quite flexible and can be set according to the customer's wishes or used in the reverse function. Therefore, it is also possible to have a permanent illumination in an unpushed state, which changes to the non-illuminated state once the e-stop is operated.
Because of its characteristic shape and its detail-specific design, the QUARTEX connect e-stop perfectly merges into Schlegel’s product range. The illuminated status indication is a real eye-catcher on every machine's operating panel. Aesthetics are becoming more and more important in the machine-building sector.
The control panel of a machine is its figurehead. Therefore, special attention was given to the emergency stop´s elegance through the innovative design, without impacting the aspect of safety. The emergency stop was developed according to the directives EN 13850 and EN 60947-5-1, has all necessary approvals, and meets the degree of protection IP 54: This guarantees that the emergency stop is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction. The emergency stop, tested for 50,000 switching cycles, ensures a long mechanical life.
