Designed for the ThinkPad Z series (z13/z16) with a strong focus on sustainability, ThinkPad launches a new era of highly sustainable and completely plastic-free packaging. There are two sizes for 13" display products and 16" display products, with a total four types of packages: one for individual consumers (retail package), which includes a bamboo & sugarcane fiber molded gift box, and a more simplified version for businesses (standard package).

The gift box for the retail package is made of molded fiber and is compostable, while the wet-press mold ensures its aesthetic appearance. Corrugated cardboard is adopted as protective material, securing high cushioning performance in combination with the bamboo & sugarcane fiber molded gift box.

For the standard package, the bamboo & sugarcane fiber molded gift box is omitted and the bamboo & Sugarcane fiber molded cushion, with the same wet-press mold, is used to ensure the necessary cushioning performance. The paper bag and kraft paper envelope are adopted to protect the product and to hold manuals. These concepts are designed to be widely used for the ThinkPad packaging and will be deployed to all of them.
