At YVOLUTION, the designers have been designing, manufacturing and selling wheeled toys since 2012. Over the years, the core principles have always been driven by the passion to create products that inspire through their innovation, provide peace of mind through their safety, and create health and happiness in the riders through wheeled play.

Summary – Twista Skates are a pair of learner skates for kids, featuring an innovative no-tools needed mechanism, which allows the skate to be quickly transformed by hand from a learning mode quad-style skate into an inline skate.

Form - Signature soft, curved YVOLUTION industrial design exudes safety and quality. Twista skates encompass YVOLUTION’s design philosophy, featuring a subtle circle theme - with soft continuous surfaces on the plastic boot and concentric circles on the wheels, decals & vents throughout. The textile sock continues the circular theme from hard plastics onto soft textiles.

Function – Twista skates are a dual stage product, activated by a first-to-market wheel flip mechanism. The learner mode has a more stable quad formation and focuses on stability, comfort and ease of use for the young child and peace of mind for the parent. As the child grows in confidence, Twista Skates quickly transform into an inline mode (ideal for improving speed and balance) - without the need for tools. Because of this easy to use, no-tools-needed mechanism, the time needed graduate from learner mode to inline mode is lessened, confidence is boosted, and the overall experience kids have with skates is improved compared to skates which do not offer this innovative functionality. As with adults, kids have a dominant leg which will develop balance faster than the weaker leg. Twista skates offer the ability to quickly change the dominant skate to inline mode while keeping the weaker skate in learner mode for extra stability, giving kids more confidence as they can graduate in easy to manage steps if they prefer.

Safety – Kids need to feel in control and parents need to be reassured their kids are safe, so Twista Skates include intuitive features like audible clicks to reassure the parent/child that the skate is secure and fastened correctly. A heel brake features on both skates, specifically designed with a low ground clearance to minimize falls. Twista skates also feature excellent ankle support with high top outer boots and comfortable, padded textile socks.

Quality – The skate body is made from durable PP, so the skates will last for years & can be passed on to new users. The polyurethane wheels have superior material properties including noise dampening and better wear resistance. The sock is removable and washable.

Design Innovation – Extension of the life of the product through the design of a dual stage product with size adjustability. Twista skates are the first and only skates with an innovative, no-tools needed wheel flip mechanism currently on the market.
