Hitachi Rail, wishing to change their line of established and longly-successful trams, commissioned us with the development of a new project for a vehicle able to improve passenger experience, to improve integration with the urban environment, to improve the offer of technological features.

the designers developed a tram which subtly, but magnificently, changed the aging shape of trams, by providing a new cross-section necessary because of the additional diagonal windows at roof height.

This allows the users to have a better view of the external environments, along with giving a gentler impact of the vehicle traveling through cities.
The new tram was carefully engineered by the Hitachi technical department, with GFG Rail giving constant supervision for the styling to become outstanding as it was initially conceived.

The first tram participated to the first available tender, that for the supply of new units to the city of Turin, and won, contributing to the first success of a revolutionary project.
