For a hundred years, the construction of the outer body of a conventional caravan (RV) has been made by connecting materials with screws, glue, silicon and thousands of staples.
Harvok has designed and engineered the body of our caravan’s using robotics and automobile technology enabling our caravan to be made into a one-piece monocoque with no joints.
This type of building has allowed us to design a more modern visual caravan and a significantly more reliable one eliminating thousands of weak points where water ingress resulted in timber rotting and mould which spoiled the user experience and cost them a lot of money in repairs. Especially when out of warranty when most of these issues are found.
By using robotic welders and modern-day automobile building techniques we have ensured that every caravan body will be the same quality. This type of building also brings us economies of scale which helps decrease our cost base which means better caravans for consumers at better prices.
Currently the majority of caravan bodies are manufactured using a labour-intensive complex and ancient system of stapling a ply onto a meranti timber frame which is then assembled by using screws and bolts onto a chassis which is then connected to the fronts, backs and roof. After this process is done then insulation is added and aluminium sheets or fibreglass are stapled connected by multiple H moulds, J moulds. Thousands of human interactions and possibilities of error and failure.
Harvok has eliminated virtually all these potential failures by investing in robotic building and modern engineering resulting in a true monocoque caravan. We use the same material as what your car is made from and built it as a monocoque which ensures that there are no joints in the whole body. No H moulds, no J moulds, no joints at all.
Meranti timber is a very common material used in caravan manufacturing in Australia. It is a tropical rainforest species found throughout South East Asia, including the Philippines, Indonesia, and east Malaysia. Unfortunately, there is a lot of unsustainable and illegal logging in these areas that threaten a lot of species and invaluable biodiversity. Our design impact will save a lot of trees from being cut down from these tropical rainforests.
Our monocoque caravans eliminate the use of thousands of staples, litres of glue, tubes of silicon, extruded aluminium and much more. By eliminating all these items, we actually deliver the customer a superior product.
Climate change is changing the weather with rains much heavier and stronger. Water will always find the weakest spot of a screwed, glued and silicone made caravan with many joints. Our customers can be rest assured as our monocoque caravan will only have entry points for water ingress from the air conditioner and hatches on the roof or windows on the side which is a miniscule amount compared to a conventional built caravan.
Customers are afraid of water ingress and the rot and mould it creates. Customers have never been offered a modern, advanced manufactured monocoque caravan in Australia before and the caravan media is excited and so are the Australian public. We are expanding our product range to cater for more customers. We expect our innovations will encourage other manufacturers to start thinking and investing in advanced manufacturing and processes which in turn will encourage more innovations and choices for the public.
Being a full electric caravan, it eliminates the gas from the caravan. It makes the camping greener and more sustainable. With 9.3Kwh of battery storage standard coupled with the 1000W solar panels on the roof to harvest as much solar energy as possible.
Being a monocoque caravan, the caravan is built without timbers frames, glues and silicon’s etc., These building materials are not environmentally friendly, it is either hard to be recycled or decompose. Harvok’s monocoque body will last longer for its life of service and also easier to recycle as it is just metals.
The patented monocoque technology will elevate current manufacturing to a new level with monocoque one piece technology. Our chassis and body are now one unit. This provides a safer towing experience for the customers. Based on our CFD analysis our monocoque design is 1.5 x more aerodynamically stable at high-speed cruising.
