Developed by the Alstom's Advanced & Creative Design team in Saint-Bruno, Canada, this design marks the 5th generation of this transit system connecting the people in North America since the mid-1980s. The fleet currently in operation, being very efficient and loved by the community, the client wanted to maintain a certain visual relationship and uniformity with the previous vehicle generation.
The new design conceptualization was therefore concentrated on the front end in order to give it a distinctive and modern character while preserving the heritage of the operating company. The added character lines, in addition to the newly integration LED accent lights on each side of the vehicle, are a reminder of nature and wildlife elements that are representative of the North American culture and roots, giving passengers a strong feeling of belonging and connection with the region.
In addition to the exterior design, the interior layout has undergone some major refinement while integrating new flex zones that improve the passenger experience for the growing bicycle user community.
