Successful companies are always trying to be close to their customers. That is the truth even thought it may sounds as a cliché, As a „thank you“ for this closeness customers reward companies with their faithfulness. Close collaboration, including honest criticism, in the end rewards both sides. In the 3-19 edition of the magazine ABOUT TRUST focuses on different facets of the topic ‘closeness’. The main article is devoted to China’s “New Silk Road”, the project in which distances have become practically irrelevant. In one of the reports we focus on closeness while living in Antarctica, in almost complete isolation, with some strangers, in the confined space of a research station. In an interview with Kirsten Thommes, the organizational researcher, we talk about the importance of closeness for corporate identity. And visually explore the topic of closeness through a photo essay, with the focus on being close in the digital age.
