Guided by design principles of research and exploration, Zaha Hadid Design presented their new product designs at Maison & Objet with a novel display system which can be deployed in many design settings and is inspired by their interconnecting ‘Z-Play’ furniture (2002) for Sawaya & Moroni.
Eroded in smooth, dark undulations, the interlocking peaks and plateaux of the system encapsulates Zaha Hadid’s language of fluid lines and subtle organic geometries. Manifest in a unique, high density, strong but lightweight PU (polyurethane) foam, the installation’s nesting and reconfigurable components are seemingly complex in form, yet retains the simplicity of a singular surface.
