Horo Lighting Collection | 2020

Designers: Pierre Gonalons, Paris, France
Manufacturer: Masiero Srl, Casale sul Sile, Italy

For the Masiero “Horo” lighting collection, the French designer Pierre Gonalons took inspiration from the heat, light and shape of the sun; the disc of light is a symbol as old as the world, a universal symbol and source of endless creative stimulus.

Taking references which range from the Egyptian god Ra, to the golden sun, to the eye of Horus, Pierre Gonalons has conceived a family of suspensions, floor lamps, wall lights and table lamps whose gilt metal structure holds a Spectrum glass disc - a unique artistic glass with a marbled effect.

The two Spectrum glass diffusers are joined and contained within the circular metal frame boasting a brushed brass finish which, when the LED strip housed inside the metal edge is lit, burst out with life and with thousands of reflections.
The treatment for these special finishes consists in the application on the glass circles of an oleographic varnish with a prism effect: the micro crystal particles in the varnish create iridescent effects which vary depending on the angle of vision.

The luxurious materials selected in the production of Horo confer to each component of the Horo family a refined and spectacular appeal when lit and an iconic decorative trump card when switched off.
There are three versions of the diffuser: emerald green, amber and grey. The lower diffuser (the eye) is made of an opaque milky white glass.

The Horo collection was created to spectacularly light up both residential spaces as well as contract venues such as hotels and offices.
