Over 1 in 3 Americans don't get at least 7 hours of sleep per night. While sleep is essential for optimal health, it's often not prioritized. The Fitbit Premium Sleep experience empowers you to improve sleep with educational programs and actionable tools. Users already have Fitbit watches and trackers to record activity, nutrition, heart rate, and other data. Fitbit Premium Sleep is unique because it can provide a holistic view of how different areas impact sleep quality. For example, Fitbit sleep insights can tell you how reaching 10,000 steps daily or exercising three times weekly will affect total sleep.
Because Fitbit finds complex associations between sleep and other health and fitness data, it can give smarter guidance. Sleep Score is a simple and intuitive way to see how you slept last night.
Your overall score is a metric between 1 and 100 but integrates many data points for sleep quantity and quality. A progress ring (out of 100) and accompanying text explains whether the score is poor, fair, good, or excellent. Each score is composed of three main subcategories: Time, Asleep, Deep and REM, and Restoration.
Users can tap to learn more about how each subcategory contributes to their overall score and to view detailed graphs and charts. The score also looks at how relaxed you were while asleep, as indicated by your sleeping heart rate, restlessness, and potential breathing disturbances. Using this data, Fitbit gives personalized recommendations for Sleep Programs to help you build better sleep habits and enhance sleep quality. Premium Sleep Insights reveal the holistic impact of your activity, nutrition, and mindfulness on your sleep quality.
If Fitbit sees that you need more support in a specific sleep subcategory, it can recommend a Sleep Program to help. For example, if someone doesn't adhere to a consistent bedtime, Fitbit offers up a program focused on winding down for bed. This sleep program makes keeping a regular bedtime more delightful by sending motivational messages that remind you to hit the sheets.
It nudges you to take practical actions like turning off your phone an hour before bed. The program celebrates users every time they complete actions that get them closer to their goal. The program also comes with accompanying articles, breathing exercises, relaxing music, and meditations to support behavior change.
Together with Sleep Score, programs and insights provide a personalized experience that can help users change their sleep for the better.
