Nutcracker Leva 2019

Designers: Michael Koch, I Design, I Design AG, Biberist, Switzerland
Manufacturers: Beisik Products, Zurich, Switzerland

“Leva” is Italian and means lever: The high-quality Nutcracker Leva cracks all nuts from 1.5 to 4 cm in diameter effortlessly thanks to lever effect. Form follows function. This clever nutcracker allows to crack even the hardest nuts. By pushing down the lever while placing the nut in the designated space, small steel wedges split the nut in half. By cracking in the transverse direction, the nutshell can be neatly divided into two halves without small splinters forming. Thanks to this type of opening, the nut kernel can be pulled out of the shell as a whole piece. Select materials and fine workmanship ensure the nutcracker’s perfect operation.

While the base and the handle are made of Swiss cherry-wood, the lever and the largest V-shaped component are made of sheet steel with black QPQ coating for better sliding properties, wear resistance and significantly higher corrosion protection. The combination of soft, beautiful cherry-wood and sleek, coated sheet steel gives the nutcracker a unique elegance, making it ideal for any dining table, restaurant or wine shop.
