Introducing Lightly by Formway for noho. An ultra-lightweight stacking chair made primarily from a plant-based polymer and recycled post-consumer plastics, Lightly is a comfortable occasional chair designed for the social spaces in our dynamic lives.

Treading Lightly: Lightly is the first chair to be made with the plant-based polymer EcoPAXX. The EcoPAXX material used in the chair frame is derived from the highly CO2 absorbent castor bean plant and has an independently verified carbon footprint of just 1.9 (kg CO2 eq./kg) as opposed to a carbon footprint of 6.5 for an equivalent fossil-based polymer. Lightly’s seat pan is made from recycled post-consumer ASA.

Less is More: Weighing just 5.2lbs, Lightly uses less than half the material of comparable chairs. The structure of Lightly has been fine-tuned to only use material that is essential to the performance of the chair, everything else has been removed.

Less Weight, More Mobility: Being ultra-light, every member of the family can help set the table for a meal when planned or unplanned guests arrive. It also enables spaces to be quickly and easily reconfigured for cleaning, storing, or changing activities.

Less Chair, More Space: 10 Lightly chairs stack to a seat height of just over 3 feet, combined with its economical footprint — Lightly can easily be stored in a cupboard at home as well as being well suited to commercial spaces such as cafes and conference venues. This stacking efficiency also translates to shipping efficiency allowing us to ship more chairs in a container.

Less Material, More Comfort: With over 20 years of experience designing performance seating for world-leading brands, Formway have brought their knowledge of comfort to Lightly by creating a contoured chair back that delivers a light flexing motion and a seat contour that provides just the right amount of support while still providing the ability to move and change postures within the chair.

Less Chair, More People: Its elegant design doesn’t dominate a space enabling people to become the focus. Lightly’s universal scale ensures that it seamlessly integrates and adapts to a wide range of spaces, from small New York City apartments to restaurants and conference venues.

Less Material, More Strength: Despite its slim profile and light weight, Lightly is extremely durable and has been engineered and tested to commercial seating standards (BIFMA), and can comfortably support users of 300lbs. This durability ensures that Lightly will have a long and useful life in a variety of environments.
