Designed by EOOS for Keilhauer, Abl (pronounced Able) is a mid-back lounge chair with an ash base that provides a soft-yet-sculptural sensibility to the workplace lounge. Swaddled by draped arms and a protective curved back, this beautiful lounge chair enables moments of reflection and focused flow. Abl’s shape was inspired by the idea of a cloth or carpet being draped over two ash wood supports and mimics the curve naturally created by gravity, giving the seat structure the appearance of floating. The Abl lounge chair is accompanied by an optional matching ash-based ottoman that also features the unique draping effect found in the chair’s construction.

Abl is certified carbon neutral. We took every possible step to reduce carbon emissions, from sustainably sourcing materials and responsible manufacturing to a carefully planned end-of-life and recyclability plan, all verified by third parties. To eliminate any remaining carbon created during the manufacturing process of this product, we invest in third-party-verified, carbon-offset projects.

From its inception, Abl was designed with the wellbeing of the environment in mind. In addition to being a third-party-certified, carbon-neutral product, Abl is constructed with FSC-certified wood, contributing to sustainable forestry practices and ensuring a positive environmental impact. The Abl chair and ottoman are shipped from facilities that contribute zero waste to landfill and which offset 100% of electricity use with renewable energy credits. Abl carries BIFMA LEVEL 3 and SCS Global Services certifications for indoor air quality at the Indoor Advantage Gold level.
