The OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling combines the advantages of a mineral ceiling with the comfort and energy efficiency provided by radiant heat. This innovative combination of surface climate control and acoustic ceiling represents a sustainable and efficient ceiling solution. Natural convection is reduced through the principle of low-energy temperature control, meaning that with a mineral climate control ceiling the room temperature can be approx. 2-3°C lower without feeling any colder. In addition, OWA uses the sustainable, biosoluble material mineral wool, which is 100% recyclable.  

The OWActive mineral climate ceiling is available in two different system solutions: parallel- and cross-band-grid. The raw material mineral wool forms the basis for the manifold design options and opens up a wide variety of planning possibilities for designing the building and room acoustics in a positive manner. Additional applications from the area of building services equipment (BSE) (e.g. loudspeakers, lights, smoke detectors, sprinklers) can be easily integrated into the mineral tiles. The flexibility in terms of planning and design makes the OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling a long-term solution, strengthening the product’s sustainability performance for commercial and residential buildings.  

The OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling allows for heating and cooling in a single system. The climate control ceiling works according to the principle of thermal radiation. The room temperature can be 2-3°C lower than with heating systems focused on warming the air (radiators, under-floor heating etc.) and saves up to 18% in energy consumption. Owing to the location of the ceiling, the radiant heat accounts for 98% of the total heat output, which is higher than any other possible heating surfaces.  

Approximately 80% of the raw materials used in the production process come from the company’s local region. Accordingly, the transport routes for these raw materials are short. The OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling is made from the raw material mineral wool and is, thanks to the OWA green circle, 100% recyclable and consists of up to 54% recycled materials Through the use of recycled materials from the manufacturing process, along with the take-back system OWA green circle, valuable resources, energy, water and CO2 can be conserved, and a closed-loop material recycling system can be established. The fact that the system can be completely removed and reinstalled makes the mineral climate control ceiling easy to work with in the context of renovation and modernization projects, further strengthening the product’s longevity.
