Answering worldwide ambitions towards net zero carbon emission by 2050.
We rethought our ways of working towards a more sustainable and eco-designed approach—rethinking product architecture, and reconsidering all the phases of their lifecycle.
Our latest innovation, a sustainable business class seat to support worldwide actions towards sustainability and still offer a unique and competitive offering providing unrevealed passenger experience.
OPERA ESSENTIAL
DISTINCTIVE, LIGHTWEIGHT, SUSTAINABLE
- 90% of our seat’s carbon footprint is generated by its weight. We reduced by 30% the weight impact of our BC, providing a premium experience and more living space (16 pax A321 -400kg) in addition to ~1 ton saving on full-cabin cables.
- Its lighter weight allows extra range.
- Reduced environmental footprint by 32% resulting in a reduction of the fuel consumption & CO2 emissions (-35% in use and -91% other phases).
- Objective toward 100% recyclable materials.
- Drastic reduction of maintenance needs and costs with ~40% less parts.
- From R&T to Industry with 3 registered patents.
- Entirely autonomous seat : fully self-reliant lie-flat seat (Fast Kinetic Principle).
- Thermoplastic shell patented in 2024 and industrialized in 2025.
- 96% electricity consumption reduction thanks to BYOD solution facilitated by a smartly integrated PED holder and connectivity roll out.
- In our Eco-design approach we applied the 4R (Rethink, Reduce, Recycle & Reuse).
