Electric pallet truck concept with Lower CO2e footprint.
A concept truck where all the external surfaces/parts have been replaced by parts being manufactured in new materials or with new processes reducing the CO2e footprint keeping the same specifications as of a current model.
The concept truck is made from recycled steel, manufactured using renewable energy. This enabled us to cut the carbon footprint of the steel by 90%. Other low-carbon features include bio-based and recycled paint and a carbon thermoplastic injection moulding process which reduced the carbon emissions of plastic parts by around 43%. The on-board charger is 10% more energy-efficient than standard chargers used today.
We worked closely with our suppliers to identify lower-carbon materials and manufacturing processes to develop the concept and test feasibility. We’re now planning to incorporate its lower-carbon features into new truck models.
