A redesign of the most popular IoT mobile application, Philips Hue App 3.0 improves usability, feature set and aesthetics for newly incoming user groups. We noticed new users were struggling with digital light control paradigms, and usability studies revealed the primary and secondary issues. So, we created a new digital design language and methodology that not only fixes these issues but sets a good foundation for the future. Philips Hue App 3.0 introduces new ways of controlling and managing a home lighting system for the mass consumer market. It lowers the learning curve and makes important functionalities easier to recognize.
