San Francisco streets have a rebirth of life post-pandemic!
A new generation of public amenities, including restrooms and multi-function kiosks, are currently being installed, offering a cleaner, safer, more durable, and visually compelling addition to SF's urban environment. The futuristic, innovative design for the San Francisco AmeniPODS blends sculpture with modern technology and universal access.
The AmeniPODS utilize sculptural simplicity as a guide for design and engineering decisions. With their mottled stainless-steel surface, they literally reflect the city's diverse neighborhoods and their deep-rooted histories while providing important public infrastructure and creating sculptural additions to the urban landscape.
The specific shaping of the form navigates accessibility requirements, breaks down the kiosk massing, and maximizes the artistic reflections of people and place. The upper curves seamlessly continue below to form the shaped, protective concrete base.
