The Sky Taipei is a mixed-use hotel tower in downtown Taipei, currently under construction. In the city’s Xinyi District renowned for its rapid urban development, the high-rise building will become a new landmark and a global destination. The building’s design reflects Taiwan’s unique balance of modernism and tradition. The lower levels of the tower will integrate retail spaces, restaurants and a performance center leading to two hotels: Andaz Taipei; and Park Hyatt Taipei with interiors designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS.

The 280-meter-tall tower complex will pioneer a new spirit in providing one-of-a-kind hotel guest experiences, while activating the street-level area with a rich mix of commercial offerings. Situated in the city’s most prime location, Xinyi District, The Sky Taipei will provide a new home for brand concept flagship stores that follow innovative retail strategies. The public spaces created around the foot of the building will open new areas for people to meet and engage in social interaction in open green spaces that redefine the urban landscape while seamlessly merging with the local context.

The architecture of The Sky Taipei is inspired by Chinese bamboo shoots and pleats of Greek columns—some of the oldest elements from Eastern and Western cultures that combine in a uniquely harmonious skyscraper. The building complex is structured into a podium building in the front, facing Songshou Road, and a taller volume that houses hotel spaces for both Andaz and Park Hyatt. Opening to the ample public spaces along Songshou Road, the building complex’s podium comprises 13 floors above ground, in addition to 2 underground floors.

This front building offers vertically integrated lifestyle areas that provide services of unparalleled quality: spaces for outstanding retail experiences, a variety of dining options from renowned international chefs, a ballroom, a performance center, and Taiwan’s first social club. The adjacent tower building’s 51 floors comprise the hotel spaces of the two hotel brands. Park Hyatt Taipei, with interiors designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS, will comprise approximately 178 guest rooms. The hotel’s public and private areas will feature furniture pieces from industry-leading brands such as B&B Italia, Maxalto and Flexform, showcasing Italian design excellence.

The signature feature of Park Hyatt will be an opulent 9-meter-high glass wall, a refined centerpiece for the hotel’s lobby. With a unique range of services, the front building’s top floors will house the social club, accessible to hotel guests and club members. The club’s exclusive offer will include a restaurant, gym, spa, swimming pool. An infinity pool, located on outdoor platform of more than 2,000 sqm, will overlook Taipei 101 and the entire Xinyi District. Targeting the increasing number of high-end international travelers looking for different types of experiences in the city, The Sky Taipei will not only redefine the city as Asia’s top travel destination, but it will also enrich the economic and social life of its surroundings. The mixed-use tower will add a new piece to Taipei’s skyline with its gleaming profile, becoming a beacon of innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
