In 2014, Martin Wallroth and Jan Dinnebier de ned the developmental goals for the rd generation of the »wittenberg« spotlight system. The main objective was to achieve a forwards-compatible, exchangeable LED with a larger light-emitting surface, while maintaining the existing spot-head volume. An increase in light output of more than 50% worked so well, it was positively crowded when doubled. An optimization of the CRI value was also on the wish list, as was the concealment of screws and cabeling.
Flexibility – one of the main features of the spotlight series, was increased by achieving a rotatability of 365° and pivoting up to 90°, permitting light to reach the most far- ung corner of any room. Exchangeable lenses, a bajonette catch for revision without tools (patent pending). Optional attachments including a honeycomb raster, shutter, LSD - light shaping di user, and the choice of numerous dimmability options. These are the results of a 2 year development project, which the mawa engineering team lead by Daniel Frey and Alessia Pegorin introduced at the light+building 2016. High-Tech made in Brandenburg.
