Specifically designed for the hospitality industry, Papirus integrates breakthrough technologie introducing new capabilities into professional hospitality handhelds in terms of strength, efficiency, battery life, connectivity, and overcoming today’s challenges related to restaurant wireless ordering.

Papirus is the first hospitality handheld employing a Super e-paper color Display, a nonreflective and high-contrast screen, with texts looking natural, without sacrificing colors. A special sensor detects whether the environment is dark or bright and automatically switches between indoor and outdoor display mode, ensuring a perfect readability in all lighting conditions, even in direct sunlight.

The Magnesium Alloy full Unibody housing makes the device slim, light and robust, with only 1 cm thickness and 150 grams weight. With Gorilla® Glass 3 the display raises the bar of protection against drops, scratches, dust and impact, higher than ever. Moreover, it employs the latest capacitive multi-touch technology, delivering a very accurate and pleasant touch experience.

In terms of operability, a great increase in efficiency and security is granted by the Waiter-IDLock (patent-pending), a quick plug-in mechanism that automatically logs in the waiter code and safely locks the device. Inserting the smart lock is enough to instantly start working. The device automatically enters sleep mode when inserted into its specially designed active pouch, and instantly awakens when you pull it out, with no button to push. The supplied Paracord® strap secures the handheld unit to the server’s belt.

Papirus also integrates an advanced high-speed camera that captures 1D and 2D barcodes from customers' smartphone screens or loyalty cards. It also features automatic table number recognition.

In terms of performance, Papirus eliminates the hassle of replacing the battery and having to charge the handheld every day. In fact, e-paper needs almost no power to hold an image or page of text, no matter how long it is displayed; thanks to this low power consumption technology, Papirus has extraordinary battery life, up to one week of continous use. Moreover, 15 minutes on the ultra-fast charger is all it needs to operate through a full work shift.

Last but not least, Papirus is equipped with Industrial Wireless Long Range technology, offering the widest coverage range among today’s hospitality handhelds (up to 400m outdoor / 50m indoor), noise immunity, and the lowest power consumption rate, which are critical requirements in this industry.
