The Norton 6000 Series door operator stands out from other door operators on the market by combining form and function to deliver a comprehensive solution for a wide array of commercial applications.
Form
The newly redesigned 6000 Series low-energy door operator from Norton Door Controls offers a slim, low-profile design that blends effortlessly with the door frame. For double-door applications, a full-length cover made to fit over two operators can provide a continuous, streamlined aesthetic not available from any other source. The modular design allows for a centrally located user interface permitting unobstructed access in a tight corridor. Unwanted tampering of the user interface is mitigated by concealing the controls behind a discreetly designed access panel that swings down to reveal labeled instructions. Performance adjustments to the unit can be made without removing the covers via sliding access points on either end cap.
Further, the 6000 is available in multiple finishes, including custom finishes, so designers can bring their unique vision to life. This feature differentiates the 6000 Series from other door operators on the market, as the ability to create custom designs in commercial projects is often limited.
Function
The 6000 Series’ new design surpasses that of other door operators currently available due to its modular design that benefits installers and stocking distributors, among others. From an interlocking back plate and continuous cover for double-doors to consolidated parts and components of the single door unit, the modularity of the new 6000 Series allows for single-person installation and very compact packaging and shipping – two unique advantages of this new door operator.
The heavy-duty components of the 6000 Series operator make it an ideal ADA-compliant solution for rough, high-traffic settings, including hospital corridors, public auditoriums and high school entrances. A new sync cable also enables easy synchronization of door opening functions and options in double-door applications along with a built-in door coordinator option. In addition, a heavy-duty mechanical door operator sits at the center of the 6000 Series inner workings, providing a long life of smooth, reliable operation while allowing this electrohydraulic door operator to function manually when power is not available.
With its sleek aesthetic, ability to be customized, simplified construction and high-traffic durability, the 6000 Series makes good design possible. It has filled a growing need in commercial projects for a door operator that delivers both form and function.
