Forest House is a project located on a forest plot. The building fits in perfectly with the surrounding nature. The stone façade of the house refers to dark pine trunks that grow in this area. In order to reduce the impression of the massive black mass, all recesses have been finished with light wood. Thanks to this, the house also seems warm and cozy.
The house could only be built on one fragment of the designated area, so in order to take full advantage of the development opportunities of the plot, a suitably adapted ground floor was designed. It influenced the shape and character of the whole building, as a result of which we do not see a black façade from the inside of the building, but bright wooden finishes, which perfectly blend in with the forest climate.
The ground floor can be divided into two main zones: the living room and the kitchen with the dining room. They were separated by a staircase, in which cantilever stairs were placed against the background of a green "living" wall. The whole has been additionally illuminated with a large roof skylight.
In the part where the living room is located, the main entrance to the house is hidden. The vestibule does not have a typical wardrobe, but wardrobes. Straight from it, we can go to a spacious living room, from which we have an exit to a large covered terrace. You can also get to it from the office, which has windows facing the street, which gives you the opportunity to observe the entrance area.
The element that separates the function of the living room from the kitchen is a green buffer with a single-circuit staircase. The kitchen and dining room create one space with large glazing on both sides of the plot, perfectly illuminating the whole room. Additionally, we have even better contact with the surrounding nature.
Behind the kitchen, there are hidden doors that lead to the utility part of the building (pantry, boiler room, garage). An unusual solution is to separate the garage from the main entrance to the house. This results from the possibility of building on the plot, but thanks to the introduction of an additional wardrobe next to the garage, this solution works. The garage is very close to the kitchen so that all shopping can be easily moved to it.
The first floor is one compact block, which has been "located" on the ground floor. It is divided into two zones - a children's room with a wardrobe and a bathroom and a master bedroom with a wardrobe and a bathroom. Thanks to this, the space of the residents was clearly separated, guaranteeing privacy. On the first floor, from the street side, there is a roofed terrace, and the windows are covered with sliding wooden blinds. From the north side, the body of the floor was suspended with a large bracket to create a roofed parking space for the car.
White elevations are the hallmark of the Warsaw workshop. Adapting to the surroundings, however, caused the decision to opt for an elegant black body. It perfectly harmonizes with the area on which the building was built, while perfectly fitting in with the surrounding landscape.
