A mirror house on the water is a compact form, which, by using a mirror façade, blends into the surroundings. The choice of material for the front elevation was obvious. The house is located in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
Its coat of arms is a mermaid. The mirror façade refers to fish scales on the tail of the mermaid. Thanks to this, the house blends in with the surroundings and is not a dominant feature. Mirrors reflect the surroundings and so the elevation of the house changes throughout the year. Every day, differently reflecting the light and changing surroundings depending on the season.
In the front elevation, the main entrance is also finished with an ulster. The door does not have a handle. The main entrance is concealed.
The two remaining walls have been finished with white Hpl. From the waterside, the house looks like a sailboat with a white mast. Large glazing on the waterside of the wall provides plenty of light and opens the interior of the house to the surroundings.
The dynamic form of the building, referring to scales or fishtail, is fully justified. In the raised corner from the side of the main entrance, there is a mezzanine. The second raised corner on the waterside is a balustrade for the roof terrace.
Mirror house on the water by its interesting form referring to the coat of arms of Warsaw and by the use of an unusual facade is a place of excursions of people who want to see such an unusual object. Thanks to this, the house is not only an empty form but also caused increased tourist traffic in the area.
