The Boulder House, located near Seolleung, the former royal tomb that became a park in Gangnam, Seoul, is surrounded by multi-family houses, making it unsuitable for the detached house.

On the other hand, the client, a famous couple of actors, made a very high request for privacy.

In the paradoxical process of designing a home in an area where privacy is very unfavorable for a client whose privacy is very important, the building becomes a unique feature that is not usually seen.

In the course of responding to the context and the needs of the client, the client and the architect ultimately wanted the building to look like a boulder.

It's a matter of course, but it's not possible to build out of a single stone to make it look like a lump of rock just for the scale problem.

In general, through the construction process of stone panelizing, the stone's inherent pattern is broken and looks artificially, so the stone no longer looks like a lump of rock.

The boulder house solved this problem by matching the patterns and joints of the stones to make the building look like a lump of rock.

If we look up close, we can see a pattern of stones, and from a distance, we can see a joint of stones that looks like a pattern of boulder.
