A new covered hall (20x36meters) hosts the market and various events in Bischwiller.

Given the varied wood resources in North Vosges, the hall offers a unique and geometric wooden frame. A 4x2x2m structural grid allows a wide range while promoting the use of local solid wood, without industrial process.

The roof of traditional shape, chiseled, rises to offer a large interior volume in the manner of remarkable French village halls as in Aube or Normandy.

In order to use local resources of land (used for artisanal pottery and nearby brickworks), terracotta tile is used as a resource strongly available and present in local constructive traditions. The terracotta brick is also valued for the base in a homogeneity of material, color and sector.

Arranged in a drawing inspired by some Alsatian enamelled roofs, glass tiles bring light into a pattern also meaning the universe of textile specific to Bischwiller.
