Athens, Greece (July 4, 2024) – The Chicago Athenaeum Museum and The European Centre for Architecture and Design are excited to announce the upcoming 2024 “The City and The World” Symposium and associated events, scheduled to take place from September 20 to October 6, 2024, in Athens, Greece.
Join us on Friday September 20, at the European Centre-Contemporary Space Athens exhibitions opening in Athens to take part in the combined expositions that exhibit the best examples of international architecture and the most outstanding eco-friendly designs and sustainability projects. The duration of exhibitions will be from September 6 to October 6 with free entrance for the public.
On Saturday September 21, an evening of celebration and recognition will take place at the Divani Palace Acropolis in the form of a conference as we honor visionary architects and designers from around the world.
The Awards Ceremony will feature a showcase of award-winning projects that exemplify innovation and excellence in architectural design. After the ending of the awarding, a Gala/Dinner will take place to honour the winners and the prize laureates.

The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design announce the Green Good Design Show featuring the winning projects from Green GOOD DESIGN 2021.
For 2021, hundreds of product designs, graphics, architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning projects, together with visionary leaders from 28 nations were awarded GREEN GOOD DESIGN.
The exhibition features the best of GREEN GOOD DESIGN awarded products, buildings, graphics, governmental projects; designers and manufacturers whose works have been awarded not only for their excellence but most of all for their sustainable, innovative designs.
The opening date for the Green Good Design Show is Friday, May 14th 2021 at THE EUROPEAN CENTRE ATHENS (74 Mitropoleos Street, Athens). The exhibition continues until Tuesday, June 15th 2021, and will be hosted according to the Official Regulations for COVID-19 announced by the Hellenic Ministry of Health.

This year, GOOD DESIGN® celebrates its 70th Anniversary with a tribute exhibition entitled "GOOD DESIGN SHOW 2020" in THE EUROPEAN CENTRE, Mitropoleos 74, Athens, Greece, featuring winning products and graphics from the GOOD DESIGN® 2019-2020.
The COVID-19 global crisis caused delays in every sector, including shipping, resulting many amazing designs still being on their way to our space. Thus, and in order to be able to showcase the wider range of GOOD DESIGN® awarded workspossible, we have decided to further extend the opening date and the duration of the show. The opening will take place on July 10 and the exhibition will last until September 6th, 2020.

The James Gates Percival International Poetry Festival is an annual THREE-day art, poetry, and literature event bringing poets and poetry lovers together from across the world.
The Festival commemorates the great American Poet James Gates Percival. Born in Berlin, Connecticut, James Gate Percival is considered the father of modern American Poetry. In the 1850s, Percival relocated from New England to work for the American Mining Company in Galena, Illinois and settled in nearby Hazel Green, Wisconsin. He is considered the first poet of Illinois and Wisconsin.
This annual festival is held in the Historic Landmark City of Galena, Illinois, which was founded in 1828 and nestled in the Upper Mississippi River Valley at the Tri-State region of Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

About the Awards: The International Architecture Awards are the only non-commercial, global, and public awards program given jointly by two not-for-profit Museums in the United States (The Chicago Athenaeum International Museum) and Europe (The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies) dedicated to public education concerning architecture and industrial design.
